Tips for Improvement:

Expect change to be stressful. Anticipate and plan for major changes when possible.
It is very difficult to manage all the newness that change brings while maintaining a full work schedule and personal life. Temporarily accommodate these special demands by hiring extra office or household help. If that is not an option, don't be afraid to ask friends or colleagues for support. Acknowledge to yourself that you do need help during this time.

Limit crisis orientation as much as possible.
Most of us love a crisis - the flurry of activity and the need for quick decision-making are exciting. While most crises are not life-threatening, we act as though they are. In time, such behavior can become addictive, which may interfere with clear thinking.

Be gentle and patient with yourself when making or going through Personal Changes.
Abandon thoughts based on "shoulds" - "I should be used to this by now," "I should have reached my goal yesterday." If the Personal Change you are experiencing is one you have chosen, imagine yourself as having successfully made the change: being a nonsmoker, being a happy person, working in a new career. If possible, be specific with your images and enjoy this vision of the new you.

Practice some form of relaxation such as deep breathing, yoga, etc.
